The Senior Financial Analyst works effectively with Merchandising leadership. This position leads and coordinates key planning, forecasting and reporting processes, and analyzes the P&L to identify opportunities/risks as well as drive business results for the Merchandising department.

The Senior Financial Analyst is expected to utilize accounting and financial background to provide financial advice to the respective business partners. The Senior Financial Analyst will interface and partner with Merchandising leadership to improve operational & financial performance.

Essential Functions:

Budgeting

·         Assists in the development of long-range financial planning and annual budgets

·         Builds financial models to support accurate planning and influence decision making

Forecasting

·         Supports P&L forecast processes and summarizes forecast highlights, business drivers, risk and opportunities for merchandising department.

Analysis

·         Provides analysis and recommendations to help merchants drive toward department revenue and profit goals

Reporting

·         Prepare weekly and monthly presentations for Merchandising leadership

·         Reporting on key business metrics, including department/category performance analysis

·         Partner with the business to understand variances to forecast/budget and understand and relay ongoing implications

Knowledge:

·         Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is required. MBA Preferred

·         2-3 years of experience in financial analysis

·         Experience with budgeting, planning, modeling and forecasting systems

·         Retail experience is preferred

·         Expert in Microsoft Excel and Power Point; Experience with macros preferred
