The Contract Specialist maintains core PeopleSoft, that interface with Time and Attendance and Leave Management system control tables to ensure that the terms and conditions of Collective Bargaining Agreements and Company policies are correctly applied to various employee populations. This position maintains contract documentation and filing systems as backup to system tables.

This position researches and resolves complicated hourly rate progression issues that cannot be solved by Payroll Processors, calculates signing bonuses and other union lump-sum payouts. Communicates with internal customers at division HR departments to advise when contract changes have been made. Under guidance of a Contract Analyst, this position tests system changes and enhancements.

Skills: • Detailed knowledge of payroll and HR table administration in PeopleSoft, Leave management systems, Time and Attendance systems (such as CTE, Workbrain or Legacy) and a solid understanding of how table administration relates to employee level tables in these systems. •Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including excel, word and access and demonstrated ability to quickly learn and use other in-house software packages to accurately enter and/or expertly retrieve relevant information for analytical purposes. •Well developed analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot employee benefit, pay, and time and leave administration issues. •1-2 years’ experience in a payroll or HR department that manages a diverse group of employees with multiple policies and labor agreements.

Responsibilities: •Enters employee benefit, pay, and time and leave rules into various systems. This position is responsible for a predetermined number of divisions, but supports and backs up any division as agreements are ratified or system changes are implemented. •Calculates lump sum, union signing bonuses and retroactive payments based on rules provided by the collective bargaining agreements. Initiates hourly rate progression controls and audits and responds to questions from the Processing areas regarding complicated calculations, providing advice on how to proceed with questions or issues. •Assists Contract Analysts by testing enhancement requests, new systems functionality acquired through project initiatives or problem tickets. Reports results of test to Analysts and provides input to system solutions. •Maintains labor agreement documentation. Creates summary documents for departments, Labor Relations and Human Resources, advising stake holders of changes. •Runs queries and creates uploads to ensure that contract terms and conditions are met.
